The ideal of America still exists in the minds of many, and we remember what it once meant to everybody. But along the way, some people forgot, or some of the young never learned, what that ideal implied.

The siren song of a discredited ideology was dug up, dusted off, and presented as, "We are going to do it right THIS time." But alas, they have not yet found the right people to administrate this "new" social justice, equality, and conforming society, and it is falling into all the old traps, of having to deal with a most recalcitrant and truculent population that has all these negative thoughts.

So the "new" way has to transform itself into a militaristic command-and-control regime, never keeping all the glowing promises made at the beginning, with a highly structured oligarchy at the top dominating a vast number of the miserable denizens at the bottom of the heap.
