Not a big fan of MLB but they can always move to Peoria, Arizona.

Finally a government willing to stand up to corporate America and its decades long scam of bribing the taxpayers.

Shame Kemp and the rest here in Georgia happily throw taxpayer dollars down the drain.

If taxpayers don’t get a cut of ticket, broadcast, and concession sales, then why the hell should they be paying for the business costs??!! Unless they are suckers...

Maybe they can go hat-in-hand to Disney and sell them the naming rights. The Tampa Bay Disney-Pixar Grooming Arena has a nice ring to it.

Sports teams have no trouble paying players millions of dollars a year, they should have no trouble paying for their own stadiums

I only wish more states would start doing this, I’m sick of taxpayer money being used to construct stadiums for their billionaire owners. They must think we’re suckers for allowing such a thing.

Having MLB teams in Florida was a big mistake. Neither team draws fans as a large part of the population are transplants.

These large urban, crime ridden areas, with pot-holed streets and highways, always seem to find enough money for stadiums.

“I don’t support giving taxpayer dollars to professional sports stadiums, period,” he said Friday.

Agreed.

I’m sure that there are a dozen or so cities that would be willing to build the Rays a new stadium as well as a practice facility, and wouldn’t care what the corporate part of the team says. That would solve DeSantis’ problem completely.

If building and operating a stadium were a profit making venture, the teams would insist on building their own.

Sitting in the bleachers at Fenway was lots of fun 25 years ago. $2-$3 was the tariff. Before I went inside I always ate an Italian sausage sandwich that came with fried peppers and onions. Real gut bombs but delicious. Outside Fenway there were 5 or so vendor’s selling them.

I don’t keep up with MLB these days.
