Cameron’s Trump endorsement is a big boost. How are other candidates responding?

Former president Donald Trump made waves in Kentucky politics on Thursday when he endorsed Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s run for governor in 2023.

Coming 11 months early, not many in Kentucky conservative circles expected the endorsement to land when it did.

“I was frankly surprised by how early it came, but I’m not surprised that he thinks of Daniel fondly.” Scott Jennings, a CNN political commentator who has worked for Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell, said, referencing Cameron’s previous visits to the White House as well as a speech he delivered during the 2020 Republican National Convention.

Trump’s endorsement does not have a bulletproof record since he left the White House, but most agree that his backing helps Cameron distinguish himself early in the GOP race to see who will take on Democratic Gov. Andy. As an added flex, Cameron’s team released an internal poll – paid for by his team – that claimed to show him with a 30 percentage point lead over Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles. But Quarles and several others indicated they were undeterred by the news of Trump’s endorsement.

I voted for Trump but doubt I will again. I live in AL and his endorsement of a RINO candidate is just wrong.

That candidate won yesterday, by the way.

Trump damaged the support of his base in this state because of that. He carried the state by over 62% in 2016 and 2020, but will not do so next again.

Sure he won't.

next again.

If he does choose to run next time we’ll see clearly for sure.
But I doubt he’ll run. I’d prefer for Trump to support another
younger candidate that would have the opp for two terms.

I will vote for Trump in 24 if he is the nominee. I have no faith whatsoever in the election process anymore which is what the Democrats and liberal Republicans want but it is what it is.

Cameron would do well to steer clear of that old reprobate McConnell if he wants to win. After his gun control betrayal his popularity is so low gophers have to deliver his mail.

In America today, it has become very easy to determine who to vote for in any election: Pay close attention to the Democrats, their RINO friends, and their lackeys in the media, determine which candidates they hate the most, and vote for those candidates. Do it for the children!

People who love America and want the insanity the Democrats have unleashed on the country to end need to fall on their knees and BEG Almighty God to ensure Trump’s third Presidential victory! Do it even if you’re a confirmed atheist because it’s a matter of self-preservation for everyone!

Of course, we would be much better off if the election was not stolen and Trump had a second term. But, that is not how it played out.

I sure agree with you except that that person must have the same view as Trump or stronger. Right now the only candidate I see that fits that profile is DeSantis and nobody knows if he will actually be a candidate.
