Just the other day I saw some stats that indicated that the typical homeowner in Westchester County paid something like $12,000 a year in property taxes. And that's in addition to state income tax,sales tax,etc,etc. IIRC the sales tax in NYC is something like 9% (can't recall the exact figure).
