THIS IS THE funniest part of this thing...
"He said he called the U.S. Department of Homeland Security,
which referred him to the FBI,
which referred him to local police.
He said he then called the Michigan State Police,
which sent him to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department,
which referred him to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources."

The guy should have reported himself to Homeland Security for going off the trail. Only very bad people go off trail and step on the mayapples.
Maybe he should have called the Boy Scouts. Looks like a grooming area...
LOL. No women allowed!
That place is where the members planned to burn Amber Heard at the stake.
It’s legal only if it’s for hunting deer, but if it is a deer blind this early or later it must be built out of natural material.
The plastic sandbags made it illegal. Everything else was natural material.
So yes, this one is illegal.
They went from “bunker” in the headline to “bunker like” in the copy. Looks like someone was building a ... BUILDING!
“You mean “The He Man Women Haters Club”?”
It’s not the local chapter of NO MA’AM?
The kind who'd be hiking while masked, I'd suspect. Probably wrecked somebody's 4th of July plans. And what about this kooky reporting? It's not easy to find, yet...
"It’s not easy to find. The bunker is about 50 yards off a narrow trail, under a canopy of pines, maples and oaks and on a hill overlooking Spring Creek, which runs away from Spring Lake to the northeast. The trail starts on Red Pine Drive, north of 18 Mile Road NE, northeast of Kent City."
“It was out in the woods, in the middle of nowhere.”
I can believe it.
Winter 1979 I was visiting a friend whose family had a condo in Burlington, VT. We skied in the day and worked at the ski resort restaurant at night. We’d walk home after closing around 1am. It’d take 30+ minutes and we’d cut across large field/forest areas to save time. So one night, it’s dead still, very cold out and we’re walking thru the woods. About a foot of snow with a hard crust on top. Up ahead there was a light in the woods at ground level. We crept up to it. It was about 8’ square area pushed up over the snow. It must have come up 16” or so as the snow was about 8-10” deep because there was about a 6” gap from the bottom of the ‘roof’ to the snow. We crept up and heard two guys talking and smelled cigarette smoke. We couldn’t make out what they were saying. We listened for a few minutes then crept away. It was late, we were tired and not wanting any issues. This was at least 2000 feet from the nearest road with no structure or anything nearby. Nothing. Just in the middle of the woods.
I always wrote it off as some missile control center as it was a large valley in a sparsely populated area.
What? Are you a member of that?
This kind of guy:
“To not investigate it seems like a missed opportunity with everything going on nowadays.”
Or Ray Brent Marsh's.
I could win money if someone put money on it.
8th graders are making a war movie. Done it a couple times. It wont get finished. Movie neither. Fun for a week.
What a schmuck
I dug better forts to play paintball as a teen. People have lost their minds.
Update to the story……..it was kids that built it for fun.
Pretty cool activity for kids.
The future of Michigan Militia is alive and well! 😆
