Exactly. Due to the covid shutdowns, I got stimulus money in the mail. $4,000 or so. Then I got my tax bill. $3,500. So I used the 4K to pay the IRS and pocketed the rest.
Think of all the ineffiencies of that.
For the federal government, that is a feature, not a bug.
