The victim was shot in the back of the head.
Pretty clever, do it in a violent city as a cover story.
Police said someone in a black car fired several rounds into the victims’ Uber at a red light near the University of Pennsylvania, striking Laylo in the back of the head.
The gunman then moved to the driver’s side and fired additional shots before fleeing.

That story reminds me of getting up three in the morning when it’s below freezing to get some sandwiches and wind up meaning to Maga Nigerians with bleach and lynching rope. Go figure
This was either a case of mistaken identity or - more likely - a random attack by a black thug just for the hell of it. We see that over and over these days. I don’t know if the perp could tell the ethnicity of the victims, but if he did, I wouldn’t be surprised if that played a role in the murder.
So, I guess my "Make my day" eye contact could get me killed in Philly?

No, but the campus shares roads with the City and the crime stats are supposed to jibe — and the University regularly understates the crime stats. The victim doesn’t have to be a student.
