“The family disputed many of the details included in the sheriff’s office statement.”
Until I see evidence to the contrary, I would believe the family over the cops.
Their home security video shows some kid about 6 years old walking out with his hands up. I wonder if the kid tackled and handcuffed?
So the police shot at the dogs too. What happens if you shoot at a police dog? Police are necessary. Not all police are bad. But this group needs to be put in prison.
Even in the 50s California was ‘safe and sane’ fireworks only. Sparklers and snakes were about all you could get. People would go to T.J. for real fireworks like firecrackers, bottle rockets and such. Even shooting them into the ocean from a beach could result in arrest.
I couldn’t believe what was legal when I first moved to MO.
But with California being always on the brink of major fires, it sort of makes sense.
Nah, that’s not it.
The local yokels are also resident natives and know we’re loaded for packs of bear.
I have no idea why no one cares that drunken idiots untrained for such massive pyrotechnics are up there shooting them off anyway.
A couple years ago, the people across the road thought they would “hide” their fireworks by aiming them horizontally down the hill of their yard...right into a copse of trees.
It was insane.
We have many water hoses connected in July.
Just in case.
Maybe I should go up the road and talk to the state trooper ahead of time, the guy with the huge TRUMP WON flags all over his house.
:)
“Over the PA, they were saying, ‘Come out with your hands up, we know you have Piccolo Petes, sparklers and one of those freedom fountains in there”.
Come out now with your hands up now!
Cali is always on fire, it seems.
I live right smack in the middle of hundreds of thousands of acres of trees, much of it pitch-filled pines.
It makes a body nervous.
The flag went up a while back.
The security doors on our house were NOT installed to deter burglars…
As I recall California cops have a less than stellar record with confiscated fireworks.
Tell them the fireworks are for your Juneteenth celebration. Home free.
Well, I’m in the West Pensacola area in Florida, and we might have you beat. Occasionally, I’ve been in bed reading and heard somebody in the distance nonsensically empty a handgun magazine, probably into the air. Pop-pop-pop-pop, etc.
Also, I have a dying meth dealer as a neighbor four houses down from me, and the house across the street is vacant, and a vagrant occupant and thief was recently evicted from the property by the Sheriff. A stolen car was also dumped on that property.
Also, rats on the West Side, bedbugs uptown, etc. I sure know how to pick a neighborhood. On the upside, my other neighbors (the actual majority) are good people
All day I'm saying amazing. What else is there to say? Told the wife I am sick of saying it because I am sick of saying it.
Events are defying all logic and rationality. Reality is a pachinko ball.
So they show up in the neighborhood with a platoon of people, with loaded ARs, shotguns, pistols, and battering rams...
But remember, this is all to keep the neighborhood safe!
You sound like an easy going, fun guy - not.
She’s very lucky...
These LEOs will probably be reprimanded for not leaving a trail of blood and bodies...
Well, I’m not a guy, so...
When you live in a huge tinderbox every July, stray sparks are not terribly amusing.
I enjoy the many public firework displays every year, done by professionals.
The one at the Antietam battlefield is epic, in particular.
Drunk hillbillies, not so much.
Hubby was a welder at the prison and when they replaced some of their doors, they gave him the “throwaways”.
We have three doors you have to get through to actually get anywhere in the house, all of them nicely painted reinforced steel prison doors.
Plus, the house is a 300 year old log house with 18” thick walls made of nearly petrified cedar logs.
I’m surprised they haven’t been clear cut for something essential...solar panels.
OMG.
/cedes the win
LOL
