Why are you invested in the names of a car? The car is a decent BEV, and Ford has a recall on a new model, this is not a surprise and why most experienced people advise never buy the first model year of a car. Yeah it makes a funny headline and Ford should be more careful as they have had too many issues with their new models (also see bronco). I like options and hope ford can pull their sh_t together as I am interested in the Maverick and would get in line tomorrow if they offered a BEV version with 200+ miles of range.

People are strange at the way the associate some of their personal pride in corporate products (see apple) and sports teams.

Why are you invested in the names of a car?

It is natural to be invested with names. One of the first things that God had Adam do was name things (Gen. 2:19)

And the Lord God having formed out of the ground all the beasts of the earth, and all the fowls of the air, brought them to Adam to see what he would call them: for whatsoever Adam called any living creature the same is its name.

I stayed away from Sony laptops, becuase VAIO was a dumb name. Two iconic baseball teams are Yankees and Dodgers, because those are great names. I have contempt for Marvel Comics so-called "Captain Marvel", because they appropriated the name of the original Captain Marvel because DC was too stupid to buy the rights to the name along with the character.

A whole lot of people are similarly disaffected with the misuse of the Mustang name. I'm not even a Mustang lover, I just have respect for its name and its historical place in car history and present marketing.

So yeah, I am attached to names. It is unfortunate that EVERY time I describe the original Captain Marvel or a real Dodge Dart that I have to put in a two sentence disclaimer to clarify WHICH Captain Marvel or Dodge Dart, because of name abuse.
