I’ve stayed in El Monte several times while visiting Los Angeles.

As I remember there was a beautiful rose garden in front of the El Monte police station.

I played basketball at the Lambert Park gym for years in El Monte. Mid 80s when the night stalker was killing everyone. I lived in Arcadia. El Monte is a tough town. Lots of Gang bangers. The gym games could get rough.

There was an old guy named John who played back then.....he was about 60 in 1985. That would make him close to 100 now I guess. I’m sure he’s sleeping, hopefully in Christ. Nice guy.
