KEY POINT FTA:

“Sri Lanka is a relatively small island in the Indian Ocean that was forced to rely on imports for food after banning chemical fertilizers to create a fully “organic” agricultural industry last year.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa recently apologized for the measure, calling it a “mistake.”

So have those restrictions favoring organic fertilizers now been revoked, or is the responsible authority still too busy apologizing?

Such mistakes should never allow for apologies.

I'm sure, as usual, "lessons will be learned."
NOT.

Currently, sourced from natural gas, Russia produces about a third of the world's fertilisers. The price from other producers is rising rapidly. Countries like Sri Lanka are going to have to make a choice; wonder which way they will go?
