If you want to play the game you have to know the rules. In the broadest terms, you are right, EVERYTHING is political in the workplace.
In the sunset of my career, my company has gone really woke since the demonkrap George Floyd riots. My goal now is to keep building my retirement fund, provide them the service that they are paying me to do, and all conversations in the workplace are strictly business directed except for the few people I “know well” over the years. It is quite sad to see some of the managers using “woke talk” and it comes across like they are almost embarrassed to promote it because they don’t believe it, or know its fallacies... but they have sold their soul for the $$$$ and a chance to climb the ladder.
As one responder here to me correctly wrote ... “The recipient of the bullying can use three words: “hostile working environment”. This is a very good weapon to have ready to go. I am glad I am no longer in mid-career having to put up with this while earning a living and putting kids through college and a mortgage. Live free or die.
Very easy to walk away from a paycheck when you’re living in Mommy’s basement and she gives you 3 squares a day and washes your knickers. You didn’t spend 5 1/2 years getting that degree in Social Justice just to be confused about which bathroom to use (my God, they still have those cis male/female silhouettes on the door!)when you have to adjust your nose-ring and smooth your purple hair…
I’d rather hire Indians.
