As pointed out in the article, Mace did not vote to impeach Trump. Unlike Cheney and Kinzinger, she refused to sit on the Jan. 6 committee. She criticized Trump about Jan.6 but that’s as far as it went, and she later reversed herself and walked back her comments.
Trump has been our second greatest President behind Reagan, but right off the bat, he just goes full blast furnace on anyone who disagrees with him about anything.
I’m old, old, old, but I’ll pass this on. In college I had a professor who worked as an aide to Lyndon Johnson when Johnson was Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate. Johnson seldom ranted and raved and threatened anyone in public. He invited them to a private meeting and once the door was closed he he went full Hiroshima on their butt. When the door opened he was smiling and slapping them on the back. He got what he wanted, but he tried not to humilate publcily and most were willing to work with him later on. It’s that talk softly/big stick thing. Trump needs to learn how to do it.
I am no spring chicken either. Times have changed. Lyndon Johnson got by with his system of lying and cheating in Texas politics but only lasted one term as President of this Republic. Donald Trump has a huge following because he loudly hollers back at the communist democrats and their Deep State fellow travelers. Conservative Republicans cringed at the George Bush version of fighting for pro American interests and against anything destructive to America. He wore a KICK ME sign on his back and the communist democrats and their media obliged him on a daily basis. A non shy Donald Trump is exactly what this country needs if this Republic is to survive.
And doing that exact thing to Brian Kemp over reopening Georgia “too early” might have been enough by itself to cost him the entire election.
Social or business enemies can sometimes be defeated with such blasts - but political enemies seldom are - and they persist forever.
