Republican Rep. Thomas Massie fired back at Democrat Rep. David Cicilline after he suggested during a congressional hearing that there wasn’t "a single incident" where someone with an assault weapon "was stopped by a person with a gun."
"The fact that guns are used by good guys every single day to prevent and stop bad guys is an inconvenient truth for Rep Cicilline and other Democrats who want to trample on the Second Amendment," Massie told Fox News Digital on Tuesday following his exchange with Cicilline last week.
"I don’t think there is a single incident – and maybe there’s one, but I’ve not found one – of an assailant using an assault weapon that was stopped by a person with a gun, so this is a – maybe there’s one of the thousands and thousands and thousands of shootings, but the truth of the matter is school resource officers are an important response to school safety," Cicilline, who represents Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District, said on Thursday during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Democrat-backed gun control bill Protecting Our Kids Act.
Following Cicilline’s statement, Massie pushed back and submitted a list to the congressional record of incidents where "good guys" with guns stopped "bad guys" from carrying out mass shootings.
"The Democrats – I don’t know if they’re just in willful ignorance of what happens in this country or they’re being deceptive today, but I would like to introduce into the record a list of cases where concealed handgun permit holders have likely stopped mass public shootings. This is from crimeresearch.org, and it’s published May 27th, 2022," Massie explained.

Yes, actually the day after the Texas shooting a woman did exactly what was claimed never happens, shot and killed the perp trying to copycat.
Anyone with armed bodyguards believes, “Good guys with guns stop bad guys.” So, when they say otherwise, they’re lying.

Massie should push forward a Bill where EVERY member of congress will be DENIED any form of personal security and be prohibited the ownership of ANY gun for a period of 60 days. Violators will be treated JUST LIKE the Jan 6 prisoners.
They will be provided with a brand new cell phone with 911 set in speed dial so that can call the police if they feel afraid, threatened, etc. MAKE THEM LIVE IN THE WORLD THEY WANT FOR US!!!

All that Massie is doing is demonstrating it’s a crap shoot. Sometimes a ‘good guy with a gun’ will make a difference. Other times it will not.

Not prosecuting violent criminals/defunding police increase murder rates
Not having border security endangers national security
Advocating for nationwide riots desensitizes the public to violence
Endeavoring on too many failed witch hunts destroys your credibility

The inconvenient truth is police do not prevent crime, they show up either while a crime is in progress or after the crime has already been committed. And on the same note, they want to defund the police so they can’t even do that.
The Democrats empathy is for the criminals.
Clackamas Town Center shooting in 2012 an armed ccw holder stopped a mass shooter who committed suicide when he saw the armed citizen draw his handgun. The shooter had killed two.
Why? Because the good guy with a gun was right there when it started.
The police are minutes or more away.
Or they stand outside the door and let the bad guy keep killing for 40mins. I say cowardice runs rampant in the police departments. They even stopped and hand cuffed a mother trying to go into the school. YEA, SHE MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED BUT SHE WASN’T A COWARD!
And every time a good guy without a gun won't make a difference. So what's your point?
