My liberal MA friends still openly defend this mess and those creating it. It's astonishing from generally pretty smart people.
My mother is one of these people. Sad but Trump has really broken some people pretty badly. They cant get past his personality combined with his successes. The thing is some people are willing to at least listen to reason , while others are just close minded members of an echo chamber. This is their only solace- misery really does love comapny.
