Constitutional rights to due process have been suspended by the administration and the courts. Yet the Republicans, who many say will fix things after the fall election, are silent and the fundamental liberties are taken away. If they aren’t screaming now about people being incarcerated for over a year without bail, without a trial, and without their attorneys being able to access the supposed evidence against them (not to mention exculpatory evidence in the hands of the government) why would we believe they will suddenly become bold after November? If fear is keeping them silent today, why would a majority vote in the House and/or Senate, make a difference?
