Chesa Boudin’s recall is great for San Francisco— and all crime-plagued cities, like NYC

San Franciscans’ landslide repudiation of Chesa Boudin’s de-prosecution strategy is good for San Francisco, of course — but it’s also good for all big, dense cities such as New York. It’s even good for the climate.

Cities only work when people behave according to common standards — and the de-prosecution movement has proven that absent an external deterrent, enough people will behave hellishly to make life hell for everyone else.

San Franciscans voted to remove Boudin from office for a simple reason: He couldn’t deliver on his promise. The supposedly idealist young prosecutor promised to cut crime while declining to prosecute most “small” infractions, like shoplifting and car break-ins.

Sf Chronicle today: “Mayor London Breed said Wednesday that recall of District Attorney Chesa Boudin does not signal an end to progressive approaches to law enforcement in San Francisco.”

Meaning they’ll get another DA just like Chesa, and wonder why crime stats aren’t going down. San Francisco doesn’t need progressive approaches to law enforcement. They need more cops like Dirty Harry.

Is breed a whore or a fag? These days, it's hard to tell. Sure am glad I don't date. I'd need one of those pocket dna kits to tell.

Anyway, it sounds like those stupid san franciscans are going to have to recall their mayor, as well.

rotten replacement on the way....

Yes, the voters elect this approach and then whine.

Then vote Dem yet again and watch their phone news updates as they cheer the Dems to win. Too bad, turkeys. They’re your soft on crime weaklings, not ours.

From Wiki...

Boudin was born in New York City to Jewish parents. His parents, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, were Weather Underground members. When Boudin was 14 months old, both were arrested and convicted of murder for their role as getaway car drivers in the 1981 Brink’s robbery in Rockland County, New York. His mother was sentenced to 20 years to life and his father to 75 years to life for the felony murders of two police officers and a security guard.

After his parents were incarcerated, Boudin was raised in Hyde Park, Chicago by adoptive parents Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, who, like his parents, had been members of the Weather Underground.[

What are the details of the changeover? Is Boudin given two weeks’ notice, or is he out right now? Or not until the Mayor names a replacement? And then the DA position will be on the November ballot?

Sounds like wishful thinking from New York. Watch the subway, that first step’s a bitch.

London Breed was never a fan of Boudin. She appointed someone else when Gascon resigned, and she pointedly did not endorse Boudin when he ran. Then they have taken shots at each other the whole time. Back in January, she told the media she hadn't decided how to vote in the recall. She never did take a public position, but everyone assumes she was for the recall, and in the last two months Boudin and her were taking shots at each other.

She also had made her signature issues tough on crime measure. For, SF, she's as law & order as anyone who could get elected, and she is definitely happy Boudin is gone.

From the article - “In the run-up to the recall election — which Boudin lost bigly, 60% to 40% — “.

That’s not a landslide as the author calls it earlier in the article; that’s the result of who showed up to vote.
