I have a buddy that was assigned to GITMO for a rotation. Said the island is beautiful. Beaches are amazing.
It’s funny Diners, DriveIns, and Dives did a show there and you’d think the country was swimming in tourist money.
But like everything else what the public sees doesn’t tell the story.
Shame. I’m sure with a few hotels, golf courses, and a casino or two, like why they were doing before Castro and Guevara showed up, that place would have more money than it knew what to do with.

I read an article in an outdoor magazine about fishing for black Bass in Cuba. The guys were catching fish that would be state records in the US and the Cuban guides were “yea whatever, we’ve seen bigger.”
