I do not mind working in an office. There are plenty of positives. For me though, losing two hours a day again just to commute is tough to accept anymore.
At first, when I started teleworking due to the COVID emergency, it started driving me up the wall, along with not seeing anybody due to the restrictions. But now, I like commuting from the bedroom or kitchen to the home office.
However, I moved to Florida thanks to the political situation in the DC area, but they want me back in the building in Silver Spring, Maryland, so I’m looking for another job. This one’s over at the end of July after I help train my replacement. I don’t think it’s logical to go back to the office in my line of work, since I’ve performed the job over a distance of at least 900 miles without a hitch, but that’s what they want, so I accept it.
Especially with Biden’s gas prices.
I need my commute. Even during the lockdown period in 2020, I would leave my house in the morning, get a coffee, and drive the local neighborhoods for an hour and then at end of workday, I would go out and run errands for about an hour
Commuting is one of the best parts of my day. I get to listen to music on the stereo and do some thinking. It also gets you in work mode (in the morning) and decompresses you at the end of the work day.
Having to commute amounts to an automatic downgrade in salary.

How much is your weekly fuel cost commuting to and from the office?
Its not the office most the time, its the commute.
Where you live is YOUR business
Where you work is your EMPLOYER’S business.
Same here. I've been working remotely for more than 5 years. There is no point to me going into the office for much of anything. No real upside to my employer to have me in the office either, as they'd have to pay for space, electricity and other similar things. If they were to suddenly demand I spend time in the office (where ever that is, I don't even know anymore), they'd lose big time, because I'd suddenly be an 8-5, M-F worker. No more 2AM calls, and weekend work, without substantial additional compensation. They'd actually have to staff 24x7 to get 24x7 worth of work. It would simply be prohibitively expensive for them. The nature of my work is fairly solitary. Fortunately my boss understands that. I'm not always working, nose to the grindstone during the week, but everything gets done, and they know I'll be there when they need me at other times. It's a reasonable compromise.
