Russia refuses to guarantee non-deployment in Cuba and Venezuela.
It is 272 miles between Finland and St. Petersburg
Surprise, Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has consequences.
So will this be another unprovoked attack when Russia moves to protect itself?
First let Russia guarantee non-deployment of military forces in Ukraine.
NATO — the “non-aggressive” alliance which bombed Serbia for 78 days — is expansionist in the sense of “empire” just as much as many say Russia is expansionist. This is the Cuban missile crisis redux, and an unnecessary provocation. Sweden and Finland are now discardable pawns in a game far larger than they believe. With the advent of the European Union’s call for its own military command authority, it seems that the EUSSR is forming right under the noses of the unsuspecting.
Vlad ain’t gonna like that!
And nobody cares.
Give a guarantee that is as solid as Russia’s guarantee not to invade Ukraine.
It is <1 mile from St Petersburg to the Baltic where NATO nuclear subs can operate.
Russia isn’t stupid enough to attack.
Our leaders are self-centered imbeciles. Stupidity easily results in death.
I think it’s well past the time America should even be in nato
Won’t be an attack. If Ukraine was in NATO the Russians would not have attacked there either. This is the purpose of a defensive alliance and exactly why Norway and Sweden are joining. Putin miscalculated badly if he thought that attacking a sovereign neighbor would prevent other sovereign neighbors from joining a defensive alliance.
Russian tv stooges should remember this the next time they make threats. A nato nuclear weapon could be placed not far from their studio.
Keep poking the bear.
