It is a given that any nation in order to grow, prosper and survive has to have a plentiful supply of reasonably priced energy, there are no exceptions. Eventually and in time we probably will have nuclear fusion power plants, until then it will be a good idea to make the best with what we have in form of carbon-based energy such as coal, gas as well as oil. Of course, solar and wind power is a nice addition, but never has or ever will compensate for what is actually needed and required.

MrCryptoad comment I found about solar panels after Biden removed tariffs from China on them:

I suspect they’ll never deliver more energy than was needed to mine the materials, manufacture, ship, install, and eventually discard the panels.
