I’m planning on retiring at the end of this year.
We’ll see what happens.
I am shooting for May of 2023. I can see that it might not happen. I am very pi$$ed at Commie Slo Joe and the Rats

If you planned reasonably well enough, you should be fine. And you’ll love retirement! You will keep busy, but doing what YOU want to do, at your own pace. The days of the week will become meaningless, and time returns to being abstract.

I went from 62 to 67 and now it’s 70.
I'll be re-die-ering.
You will have a great time. I enjoyed spoiling my wife in all number of ways. I built her a doll house that was 6’4” tall and 12’6” long that coming apart in modular sections was perfect for her hobby. I also enjoy cooking about half the meals as I was a Mess Sgt as a kid in the Vietnam era. We have gone wild boating, fishing, going to music concerts, operas, and political events.
We did that for four and a half years then I came down with serious cancer. It looks like I have beat it, but damn I am glad we went so many places. I am now moved to an entirely new area of the country with interesting scenery and history (North Carolina Coast) and I am buried in yard work making new gardens.
Keep everything paid for, enjoy new hobbies and meet new people. Above all, love your family.
