Former President Donald Trump has endorsed House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy for a ninth term in office, standing behind the California Republican despite leaked audio of Mr. McCarthy suggesting he would ask Mr. Trump to resign following the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Mr. McCarthy, 57, is poised to become House speaker next year if the Republicans regain the majority, which polling and political analysis suggest is very likely.
Mr. Trump praised Mr. McCarthy’s “Commitment to America” platform that would resume work on the southern border wall started during the Trump administration, restart energy projects halted by President Biden, take steps to end Big Tech censorship of conservatives and pass legislation aimed at expanding the economy, among other things.
“Congressman Kevin McCarthy is an outstanding Representative for the people of California, and a strong and fearless Leader of the House Republican Conference,” Mr. Trump said in a statement. “Kevin McCarthy has my Complete and Total Endorsement for California’s 20th Congressional District!”

Like the endorsements of McCain, Romney, Grahamnesty, McConnell, Tillis, Cornyn, Capito, Cassidy, Daines, Ernst, Risch, Rounds, Sasse, Sullivan worked out so well.......
Now this is just sad.
Kind of hoped he’d have some kind of primary challenge to at least keep him honest..

Well I just don’t know but I think Trump is going after what little California Republican vote there may be.
The GOP wing of the Uniparty hates Jordan, he could never win the speakership. But since the Speaker doesn’t have to be an elected member of the House of Reprentatives, there’s nothing to stop them from electing, say, Liz Cheney as Speaker. And don’t tell me that the idea is so far-fetched it couldn’t happen in a country that can’t even define what a woman is.
As usual, Trump knows what he is doing.
How long are they going to keep rubbing this in our faces? I don’t know what the hell this is about, maybe Trump is being forced into this. Might be the only available option, or maybe kevin told Trump what he wanted to hear. At any rate, I would not vote for kevin.
145 of the GOP House members voted for Liz Cheney in Feb 2021, so unless there is a real turnover in the primaries, there will be the same Assistant Democrat leadership.

Ever notice how the base has to please the GOPe, and consider their displeasure... but they never got told “the conservative base”, the “freedom caucus” etc will be angry so you need to accept this?
One way streets suck.
I am not happy about this, mainly because I don’t like or trust McCarthy.
However, there is nobody on the R side who can beat McCarthy, so it is only practical for Trump to have endorsed him and have him owing Trump at least a small favor. Politics is the art of the possible...which necessarily means some compromises, most of which will leave you with a bit of a bad taste in your mouth - in the service of some other goals.
The Gov of Fla is looking better every day. If this is wiining Im tired of it.

Gotta acknowledge his manly linebacker/neanderthal looks. Women dig it but won’t fess up. The strong, protective factor should enter into it but it’s outdated.
Jordan also endorsed McCarthy
He has skin pickins.. Nobody is stepping up in some place. Maybe he knows something we don’t.
