They refused citing religious beliefs. In the liberal world, that's the most egregious reason….ever. I'll take them at their word because of that.

Desantis line-item vetoed over $3 billion in pork, so this was just a small amount of that. He has been against public money for private stadiums and would probably have vetoed this anyway even if they had remained silent. Still, it gave him the opportunity to take a shot at the companies who want to go woke and get taxpayer money. The Rays are owned by a New York carpetbagger who rarely goes to their games unless they are playing in New York. Desantis doesn’t like the California and New York crowd trying to impose their values in Florida.

Macky Cracklins :" “This cannot become normal.

We cannot look the other way.

Well, the Tampa Rays got a $35 Million dollar swat !
That changed something, all right !

When did sports become so political? And they always choose the most left wing cause

It happened when James Carville and Hillary the Wicked Witch and White liberal 'elite' haters realized conservatives were" NASCAR dads". Liberal hated is so deep and evil they wanted to take that little joy away from us and fill it with liberal bullshit...

Here's the worst part:

It wasn't because liberals liked NASCAR - because they don't. They look down on car racing and always have. It was because they hated the idea we had anything enjoyable in our lives. That's who they are. Evil. Horrible people.

Is there anyone here who would be sad if Putin nuked DC? Ok, maybe that's too extreme...

from link: NASCAR Dads The most wanted demographic of national political candidates during the 2004 election cycle; comprised of Southern and Midwestern white males age 25 and older who usually vote Republican...

The Rays should move to California - wallow in some of the human street poop San Francisco is so well known for...

Why the hell are we giving the Rays millions of dollars in the first place? It’s a profit making company... right?

Oh, and when you leave Rays - take the Disney groomers with you to the land of illegals, street people, smash and grab crooks, Prosecutors who favor criminals and hoards of sexual weirdos competing for attention for their stupid kinks.

Yes I’d be sad there are a lot of innocent people who live in and around the DC area. The loss of Democrats wouldn’t bother me all that much. And I might even shed a tear (of happiness) at their departure

for the record I’m 100% AGAINST subsidizing sports teams with taxpayer money ever for any reason. If they can’t make a go of it on their own, then left the go out of business. They make a profit and other than being a showcase for some of most obnoxious personalities outside of CNN and MSNBC don’t really do anything that is relevant to the rest of us. And this is even worse. It appears that the Rays are donating $50k to the odious Every Town for Gun Safety group

We both want DC to be safe... and our country to be safe. No one wants a war with Russia.

BUT

If Biden and his band of idiots makes their usual horrible 'mistakes' in handling this war - and get us involved in a hot war with Russia- a Third World War... then I'd hope the last cities nuked would be in flyover. It seems fair....

Biden walked out on the Afghans... he could easily walk out on the Ukrainians or anyone else. Biden doesn't even like half the American people. It's so horrible here now... Biden has so screwed up the country.

I think his decision had more to do with his opposition to using public funds for these types of projects.

He left intact money for NASCAR so I think it was the politics that motivated him. It is an election year.

"Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." -- T. Jefferson.
I never particularly like watching sports or understood how someone could be a commercial sports fan. My revolver is my "constant companion" when I leave the house (except when I go to the doctors and then I feel somewhat naked).

"But, I’ve read on FR that DeSantis is deep state!"
I often read statement on FR that sound like someone is simply trying to stir up trouble and cause division. I "thank with brief thanksgiving whatever gods may be" that DeSantis is my governor. I wish there were a thousand DeSantises.
