Imagine no atom bombs on Japan and no unconditional surrender, just an agreement that we’d leave Asia to Japan just to stop the fighting. Would there have been a sea change in Japan’s approach to its global relations, and what would have happened in its neighborhood?
Why should anything about the Taliban change? Just because we nicely gave Aghanistan back to them?????
I promise you, they will be back on our radar in our lifetime.
WWII was the only way the U.S. should conduct war if it has to go to war, and that is 100% all in and no peace until total unconditional surrender of the enemy. Just look at every military engagement we have had since then - nothing is settled for good.
The only solution to the issues in Afghanistan is several carefully targeted and detonated neutron bombs.
