AP buried the lede, although they did offhandedly mention Nigeria’s “rising violent conflict between farmers and herders.” They failed to mention that the farmers were targeted for being Christian by the muslim Fulani ‘herders,’ of which belongs Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. This is not Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” singing ‘The Farmer and the Cowman’ should be friends, although P. Francis would probably claim that.
