The Russians are in need of nothing- important. Grain, food, commodities, oil, NG, diesel, metals and more. The West needs what they have.

LOL! The US produces a huge amount more of natural gas than does Russia. And it produces more crude oil than Russia. And American farmers produce the way more food than Russia.
Russia, it was recently reported, has ships full of oil it has not sold yet. Thus it presumably cannot process more oil because of shrunken storage capacity. Do they have huge land based storage like Cushing, OK? And do we have statistics to compare their storage and ours? Have North Dakota drillers reopened the oil production sites that were shut down when oil and gas got so cheap several years ago that it no longer made sense to pump oil?
Last year I think I read we were producing 10 units of oil for every one we needed to import. This kind of shortfall could be solved by everyone driving a little less and taking better care of their autos. Possible strategies—maintain good tire pressure, maintain an ideal speed; combine shopping tasks, car pool, work more from home, vacation closer to home and stay longer. Walk and bike when possible. We need more exercise and sunshine anyway. Any ideas to add?
Regarding food, join FRs Diana in Wisconsin gardening ping list, Plant your own garden, waste less food by shopping more carefully. It is said Americans waste about 30% of what they buy. Buy easy storage foods in bulk when cheap. Preserve your own food when foods hit a seasonal low. Try to build up to a 3 month supply of emergency food. I hear the Mormons ask their people to have a year’s supply. Any ideas to add?
