LOL - wonder why they breaking down now?
So you’re still buying the media narrative.
No, I do not have any MSM sources.
I view a variety of foreign media sources that seem to have reliable reportage including maps that are updated daily.
I never said all the debunked propaganda was Russian. I’m just so utterly shocked - that here on a news discussion board - that has a history of primarily being very pro-US, very anti-Communist, anti-Socialist, and yes - anti-Russian... seems to now ignore or deny the reality - that Russia is the propaganda champion - they mastered the skill - wrote the book (even providing the basis and foundation for a lot of techniques that the CIA now employs). Indeed - communism (and Socialism for almost all the same reasons) cannot exist without propaganda -
And lest we forget - the most serious investigation regarding Russian hand in the 2016 elections actually validated that Russia played an extra-ordinary role in that election - not by siding with one candidate or another - but by injecting unprecedented volumes and spending a lot of money - putting out propaganda for/against both Trump and HIllary - and seems to be STILL pouring it on -
What did they have to gain by using bots and influencers to attack both main candidates and at the same time - to support both sides? DESTABILIZATION They didn’t really care which side won - but that they created division in the US, especially among voters -
And it appears they have indirectly, even twisted a lot of folks here on FR!
YES - warfighting on a large scale almost always includes propaganda...
Ukraine is starting to look like Vietnam. In a year we will see American boots on the ground. Bet on it.
Who do you see being supported by the media? Which politicians are supporting Ukraine? How are they treating Russia?
That being said, who is the propaganda supporting?
The point I’m trying to make is that in the war with Ukraine, Russia is the loser. Russia is losing in a very big and historically irreversible way. Below are articles supporting that thought
You shun the perceived American MSM bias and I do also. I read international news from the Jerusalem Post and Al Jazeera. Both provide what seems to be fairly sourced and unbiased presentation of world events
Russia will never be the same and is weakened severely as a factor in the real world. In historical fact, Europe has turned against Russia.
Al Jazeera reports that pretty much all if not actually all, of Europe is providing some sort of military support to Ukraine. Europe has decided that Russia must be trashed.
“Weapons to Ukraine: Which countries sent what?”
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/6/5/weapons-to-ukraine-which-countries-sent-what
And then today there is a report in the Jerusalem Post of that NATO European support for Ukraine expanding to include Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. These four Pacific Rim nations are invited to attend a NATO summit.
“Japan’s Kishida considers joining NATO summit”
https://www.jpost.com/international/article-708598
So, bottom line, it seems the world that matters is deciding that Ukraine must be defended and further, how badly Russia must be punished for the costly destruction of Ukraine
When you live an an echo chamber - you see what you have immersed yourself in. in the US - much of the bluster is pro-Ukrain/anti-Russia. Although what has been labeled as “propaganda” isn’t when it comes to the anti-Russia stuff. Most of the pro-Ukraine promotion has been to make them out to be somewhat more “saintly” than reality. But I also have friends in Ukraine (both American and Ukrainians) and have been there as well - and so I don’t just buy whatever I hear or read. I weigh it with what tools and sources I have available.
But the reality is - Russia has NEVER truly ben an ally. Even in WW2, it was more of a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”.
The average Ukrainian is not the corrupt nazi that Russia has painted the entire nation. Indeed - Russia’s current war is more like Hitler’s campaign against Europe than any actual moral endeavor (that even some in the US are claiming it to be).
When I was there a few years back - the hate of BOTH Communists (modeled in their minds by Russia) and Nazis. That infamous “Azov Batallion” that has been the poster child for “Nazi Ukraine” isn’t that at all. YEs - there are many Nazi-like folks there- and even nazi symbolism (kind of like still exists in far larger scale in... Germany today). But again - we gauge the world by our own defective standards. The socio/economic/political mechanisms in Ukraine (and generally Eastern Europe) just don’t work as they do here. Azov helped prevent the Russian expansion beyond Crimea in the first go-round that started in 2014. Then became an either-or threat: Either you recognize the battalion of local militia and then put them under national leadership as a Guard unit - and this still have some control... or you reject them - and they become a very real enemy that is completely out of your control.
And that battalion has proven to be vital in keeping the Russian advance from just walking all over Ukraine.
