If you have an aging EV it would be a good way to replace your current workout battery pack for a newer one.
Btw, not a new concept. It’s been in use in large distribution centers for several years.
Climate insanity colliding with crime idiocy. Californians, envisioning their utopia, are creating a socialist hell hole. The only question is will they ever understand what they’re doing?
How many swaps do you think a swap station can handle in a day?

Hey, that’s the ticket. Self charging. Use 10,000 AMP/Hours, and charge 15,000 amp hours. Battery stays full all the time. The first tranche of investors get in on the ground floor. Better than krypto. I have your subscription agreement right here.
“What needs to be invented/developed is a portable or in vehicle charging device.
Think subways and streetcars and trains that get their power from overhead lines, and they don’t need batteries.
Like a scaled down diesel-electric locomotive system.
No and those people know it. Keep in mind that our new overlords don’t care because their intent is that very few will have a car.
This entire EV crap has always been nothing more than a Globalist con.
“Watch for illegals stealing and selling hoses to pay for gas for their stolen internal combustion vehicles.”
THIS!! LOL!
This video is short @ 2 minutes.
It explains with numbers, and challenges they still face.

This is where the summer’s power outages will come from.
Do you think only illegals would be engaging in this activity? We’ve got plenty of homegrown thieves also
I had been in the habit of taking my propane bottle to the Pargas dealer and having it refilled. Then I stumbled upon the convenience of the quick swap bottles located at my neighborhood grocery store.
Unfortunately I didn’t inspect closely enough on one trade and got a bottle that wasn’t certifiable. I used the tank and then when I went to trade it out the dealer wouldn’t accept it. I was stuck with a worthless tank and had to buy a “new” one for $40.
It’s only a deal if it is like for like.
If it were only that simple
“Why not make it where you get a fully charged battery pack interchanged in seconds at a battery station? It would turn into a logistical nightmare I guess.”
Not just that. Stations would have to price in the depreciation of the battery in their swap charges, and then also price-in the labor and capital costs.
Just the depreciation alone will drive up the cost of ‘recharging’ to the price of driving a gasoline car, and the added labor/capital costs will make it even more expensive.
So, kind of a dumb thing for the government to push when, at the same time, they’re trying to force everyone to drive electric vehicles.
Reason 4,187 I am not an early adopter. I refuse to be a guinea pig. Let me know when the tech is mature, reliable, stable, and proven. It looks like I will be driving as powered cars for the rest of my aging life.
“It’s only a deal if it is like for like.”
That’s another problem with swapping batteries - what if you get a dud? You won’t know it until your 20 miles out...and then what?
Yep we do. But inventions will provide other ops. In 1492 it
was the horse, mule and buggy. Times change and will continue.
I wish I’d be around to see what the future looks like in 50 years
for the USA/World.
