The fight for rare Earth minerals
Fox News ^ | June 3, 2022 | Jennifer Griffin , Liz Friden

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will meet with his Chinese counterpart, Defense Minister Wei Fenghe face to face for the first time in a tour of Asia next week. The Chinese government formally reached out to the Pentagon Friday to set up the meeting. The focus of it will be on "managing competition," according to a US official familiar with planning.

One aspect competition is heating up between China and the US is the race for rare earth minerals. These 17 metallic minerals make up almost everything electronic, including the US military’s most important weapons like F-35 fighter jets, M1Abrams tanks, surface-to-air missiles, handheld radio’s and everything in between.

China currently controls nearly 90% of the world supply of rare earth minerals, a supply chain that is so crucial to national security that the Defense Department submitted its own legislative proposal to the House Armed Services Committee asking for $253.5 million to build up a bigger mineral stockpile. If the supply chain for these minerals fails, planes will stop flying, tanks will grind to a halt and the US military may have trouble communicating.

In a bipartisan solution, Senators Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) of the Senate Armed Services Committee have come together to sponsor the REESHORE Act. This legislation would help create a larger stockpile for the US military along with creating more incentives to mine these minerals in the US. Senator Kelly, a former astronaut explained how he saw the problem firsthand from space.

Let’s see how this works.

How The Clinton Administration Allowed China To Rob America of a Critical Natural Resource

However, Clinton’s assistance to China at the expense of American interests did not even end there. On October 10th, 2000, just around 3 months before his second and final term in office was to end, President Clinton signed The China Trade Bill into law. That law granted China even further access to American technology, including technology related to LREE’s, HREE’s and permanent magnets- over all 3 of which China by then had already gained its aforenoted 80% global control- thanks to the help provided by President Clinton.

Hunter Biden’s Firm Helped China Get Control Over Vast Cobalt Mine In Africa: Report

Hunter Biden's firm which was involved in 2016 deal, granted the Chinese firm to have control over a mineral required for the creation of electric car batteries

Joe Biden was involved in a deal with a Chinese giant — and was expecting a 10 percent cut

Oneida would be split according to an email sent by James Gilliar to the group on May 13, 2017, laying out the distribution of shares. “The equity will be distributed as follows,” wrote Gilliar, listing the shares in percentages.

“20 H [Hunter]

“20 RW [Walker]

“20 JG [Gilliar]

“20 TB [Bobulinski]

“10 Jim [Biden]

“10 held by H for the big guy.”

Three years later, Bobulinski would tell the world that “there is no question” that “the big guy” is Joe Biden.

Ukraine is a major producer of neon gas critical for lasers used in CHIP-MAKING and SUPPLIES MORE THAN 90% of U.S. semiconductor-grade neon, according to estimates from research firm Techcet.

MAJOR NATURAL RESOURCES OF UKRAINE
The natural resources of Ukraine can be divided into three main groups; energy resource, metal ores, and non-metal ores. Although it accounts for only 0.4% and 0.8% of the Earth’s land surface and world’s population respectively, the country has approximately 5% of the WORLD’S mineral resources.

Over 20,000 deposits of 194 known minerals can be found in Ukraine. Of these deposits discovered, 7,800 deposits of over 90 hold important industrial minerals.

Ukraine has one of the leading reserves and extraction of MANGANESE, iron, and non-metallic raw material.

The country also has the LARGEST URANIUM deposit in Europe and accounts for 1.8% of the world’s uranium deposit. The proven reserves contain estimated 45,600 tons of uranium.

Ukraine has 300 deposits of graphite, containing more than 1 billion tons or 20% of the world’s graphite. Only China has more graphite reserves (26% of the total world’s graphite reserve).

Other major resources include mercury (2% of the world, 30,000 tons, ranking it 5th after Spain, China, Algeria, and Kyrgyzstan), potash salt, gold, building material, ornamental stones, and hydropower resources.

WHAT EVERYBODY KNOWS:
This is Putin’s attempt to retake the area when nations left during the closure of the Soviet Block Russia in 1991.
Putin wants the mines! The mineral wealth of the area remains the same strategic prize that Adolf Hitler recognized during WWII.

1-Particularly Donbas, leads Europe in proven recoverable reserves of uranium ores, ranking seventh in the world overall. It ranks second in titanium ore reserves in Europe, second worldwide in explored reserves of manganese ores, and second in Europe in terms of mercury ore reserves.
[Natural uranium and low-enriched uranium can be used as fuel for power generation nuclear reactors, research reactors, military plutonium production, and naval propulsion reactors. Highly enriched uranium can power naval propulsion, military plutonium and tritium production reactors, and act as feedstock for nuclear weapons production.]

2-Titanium alloys are some of the most common metals used in military applications for everything from aircraft parts to missile housings, armor plating, naval ship and spacecraft construction. Many more civil applications contribute to demand as well.

3-Manganese ores are vital to steel production, corrosion-resistant aluminum and copper alloys, battery cathodes, and nutritional supplements. Mercury ores are valuable in applications including munition fuzes, missile and space guidance system gyroscopes, infrared detection and lighting.

IF PUTIN ASSUMES FULL CONTROL OF THESE ASSETS is an obvious shortcut to exploit Ukraine infrastructure in the Donets Coal Basin won’t be the work of a moment for Russia. But assuming full control of these assets is an obvious start. PLUS, PUTIN WANTS TO KEEP CRIMEA: WELL KNOW FOR SMUGGLING.

Transparency International ranks Russia as one of the world’s most corrupt countries, putting it 130th of 176, with a particular problem in its defense sector.
Ukraine was already in a bad way economically because of Putin’s puppet. The Maidan revolution [2014 protests] that ousted pro-Russian leader created the fall and impeachment of the regime of President Viktor Yanukovych that caused him to ran away to Moscow in the middle of the night.

Russia is a one-man state and it’s TV news is straight up Goebbels style propaganda. Putin is old KGB & will eliminate by assassination anyone, anywhere for his convenience. Putin uses social media sourced agents just like the tactics of USSR: KGB utilized to disrupt opposition

We have plenty of the stuff right here in America. This too like our energy independence was sacrificed on the altar of Gaia.

We in the collective West and in America in particular simply cannot afford the exorbitant sacrifices to Gaia made by the envirosocialist watermelons. We need to pump our own oil and gas and mine our own rare earths. In the end, those minerals are going to be mined anyway and that oil and gas is going to be pumped anyway - it will just happen outside of the US thus making us poorer and less secure.

My first post regarding the Russian incursion into Ukraine described the valuable Titanium deposits.

Putinistas never mentioned Ukraine’s value in vast natural resources which strengthened Russia’s first-strike nuclear threat in the use of Titanium for structure and shell of Russian submarines.

The last 7 Presidents: Reagan, traitor, traitor, traitor, foreign traitor, Trump, senile pedophile traitor. It’s a wonder the US is still barely alive.

Ok, I’ll mention it. Perhaps the Neocons should have considered the fact that Ukraine/Russia was willing to sell us all of the Titanium we needed and STOCKED UP on it...before overthrowing the Ukrainian government and causing a civil war in that country...and then forcing Putin to step in after the West took a side in that war.

The Neocons, who have destroyed country after country, just couldn’t stop - now have to deal with some push-back.

Supply of rare earths is like the supply of crude: we cannot use our very abundant supplies and mine Mother Earth like we cannot drill for our equally abundant supplies for harming Mother Earth: Both mining and drilling are inherently Evil.

Therefore, we have to beg others is give us what we need on their terms and prices. Mining and drilling outside of the US is a good thing.

When you say "Ukraine" what you really mean is the part of Russia that got assigned to the Ukraine by the Bolsheviks, right?

Well guess what...they don't want to be part of your corrupt, Soros/CIA sponsored, fascist regime any more...deal with it!
