The grandmother of Uvalde school shooter Salvador Ramos was an employee at the school, according to a friend of the family.
Speaking to the New York Post, the source — who wished to remain unnamed — said that the grandmother, 66-year-old Cecilia “Sally” Martinez Gonzales, had been a teacher’s aide at the school, a fact confirmed by public records of employees in the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. Though the type and duration of her employment is unclear, she was on the school’s payroll at the time of the incident.
The source also claimed that Gonzales was known to both adult victims, teachers Irma Garcia and Eva Mireles, who had taught at the school for several years, as well as many students who were killed. “She knows a lot of the kids who died and was close to them,” the source said.

Maybe.
It provides a major possibility for a motive.
Why do you say that?
SHe worked at the school. I don’t know if she worked in the kitchen or janitorial or some other function, but she would have keys to get into the school.
The teacher briefly propped open the door, but now they say it was locked just after he crashed. Now we have a possible motive (and way he could have gained entry) for him to target this school. Did the grandmother tell him she didn’t like some staff member, possibly one or both of the teachers? It seems like he targeted that area and two specific classrooms.
If she worked in the school, she was likely issued keys or a key card to open exterior doors.
It states teacher’s aide in the article. They aid the teachers in the classroom. The chances of a teacher’s aide rating a key is next to nil, but he might’ve known about them propping the door open if he ever had to bring something to his grandmother or meet her there.
It has already been established how he entered the school. It is on videotape. It had nothing to do with a key. A teacher propped open a door with a rock, then took away the rock, but failed to pull the door closed all the way. This has been shared by investigators.
There’s another article posted on FR From the daily mail where they talked to one of the teachers in one of the nearby classrooms. The teacher said that door was known not to latch correctly. The level of incompetence with the school district starting with basic repairs to the building to the school district police response after the shooting begin is off the charts. Exterior doors on any building, from the school to a shopping mall, etc. Should latch closed when released from any position, from fully open to just a few inches.

Thanks, yeah, I watched the interview.
and who gave him the cash to buy these expensive weapons and ammo
That’s a good follow-up question.
I have read that the gun maker offers financing and the perp had the guns sent to the local FFL dealer, where he picked them up.
He also bought ammo and magazines. Where did he get that money?
Maybe he robbed his grandmother’s cash?
He was living at home, didn’t have many expenses. Even on a fast food worker’s pay, he could save up the money in a matter of months.
Let’s say he was making $8 an hour and working 20 hours a week, he’d gross $160 per week. Considering the tax tables, I’d estimate on the high end, his total tax at 20% which would give him a gross of $128 per week. Probably less than 20% since Tx has no state income tax.
Assuming he had no other expenses (lived at home, didn’t own a car, etc.) it would take him around 40 weeks, less than a year to save up $5,000, less time if he worked more than 20 hours or worked OT.
FWIW Wendy’s is currently pay $9 to $10 hours to start with no experience.
she was a teacher’s aide
teacher’s aides do not have school keys
Why did the shooter crash his vehicle?
The shooter seems to have been familiar with school. He may have known about the defective door. He may have planned this for years. Maybe to imitate Sandy Hook.
The local chic fil a pays $15 to $18 to start and they.can’t keep enough staff at those pay levels. He was likely making at least $13 an hour or more. Texas has no state income tax and if you know you are going to make less than 25,000 in a year as a single tax payer claim two on your exemptions since you will have a bear zero tax liability and earned income credits that way the withholding is near zero. With the personal deduction and EITC his federal tax liability would have been no where near 20% his rate would have been closer to 10% if he didn’t get everything back via the tax credits. No conspiracy needed it’s documented that he worked at Wendy’s and bragged for months about how he was only working to save money to buy guns and ammo so much so it creeped out his fellow workers. At $13 an hour with not bills living with granny he would’ve cleared just over 27,000 in a year and kept nearly all of that money given his tax status and not having to pay bills. $6000 would be a few months at most to save up for. No tinfoil quackery needed.
I have read somewhere that the Grandma asked the perp to start paying his own cellphone bill. Who knows what was on that bill. I figure maybe they got in a fight as she saw him with guns and was wondering how he paid for them. Then maybe said if he can buy guns, he can pay his bills.
Maybe it pissed him off to the point of shooting her, taking the car keys and going to the school to make her and everyone else pay.
We have no idea what life was like for that grandma with him living there. I bet it was awful.
I think it is more likely that she said how much she liked the kids and teachers, setting off a jealous rage against them.
