Quit the team then. It’s not worth it.
These non trans students are being cheated and walked on, all for the sake of “progress”.
Imagine you are a junior or senior at UPenn, looking towards graduation, and maybe you are receiving a sports or financial aid scholarship from the school. Maybe too you want to go to law-school or work on Wall Street after you graduate, and will need recommendations or help from the school administration, and don't want your name trashed among the 80% of spineless woke snowflakes you must live with at the school
they have you by your binary, cisgender genitals. You likely won't speak out either.
It would take a courageous student-athlete to stand up to an institution like UPenn when you're so close to the Brass Ring (and Ivy League diploma that can set you up for life). Plus these kids have probably witnessed all kinds of small-scale rebellions where kids they know have gone up against the schools they have attended and lost. Easy for their parents (probably making a huge financial sacrifices to pay that Penn tuition) to persuade their kids to just shut up & go along.
