Is Russia on the Defensive?
Armstrong Economics ^ | 2 Jun 22 | Martin Armstrong

Posted on 06/02/2022 3:44:41 PM PDT by delta7

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov is warning the US that they have become instigators in the Russia-Ukraine war. “We believe that the U.S. is deliberately pouring oil on the fire. The U.S. is obviously holding the line that it will fight Russia to the last Ukrainian,” Peskov recently told reporters, according to Reuters. Peskov’s warning comes shortly after Russia deemed most “unfriendly” nations as “hostile,” and with good cause. In an interview with PBS, Peskov said that President Biden’s suggestion to remove Putin from power was taken as a personal insult as the people of Russia, not the president of a foreign nation, determine Russian leadership. Peskov speaks clearly and confidently; he does not seem like a madman hell-bent on war. In fact, he stated that Russia never wanted war. For decades, Russia has told the West that they are “afraid of NATO” moving closer into their territory. “Please take care of it and do not push us into the corner,” the Kremlin spokesman explained. In Russia’s eyes, they are on the defensive. Putin strictly warned other nations not to interfere in Russia-Ukraine relations. Peskov now states that the West, not Ukraine, is “leading the war against us.” As for the claim that Russia will launch nukes, Peskov made it clear that Russia has no plans to do so, but would under an existential threat. He clarified that the “existence of the state” and “special military operations in Ukraine” have nothing to do with one another. Ukraine certainly cannot back Russia in a corner to which it feels it must implode its way out, but the West does and is pushing that boundary daily.

Well said, the Ukie war cheerleaders really need to ditch their emotions and realize this is senile Joe’s war, designed to weaken the US…..to late, but do not get sucked into war, war, war, the outcome will make Senile Joe’s Afghanistan give away look like a two bit Chicago gun buy back operation.

Apparently Biden has given the NATO chief his instructions. I guess Biden doesn’t feel he has “weakened Russia” and forced “regime change” yet...:-)

“Western nations need to brace for a long “war of attrition” in Ukraine, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg warned Thursday following White House talks with US President Joe Biden”

For decades, Russia has told the West that they are “afraid of NATO” moving closer into their territory. “Please take care of it and do not push us into the corner,” the Kremlin spokesman explained.

And as the neocons mock Russia for their NATO worries - Short Bus Biden is having his minions deliver M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems - supposedly without the longer-range ammunition...

"Har har har - if they get the longer range stuff - it wasn't US. Didn't do it, didn't see us do it, can't prove we did it!! HARHARHAR!!"

These are what I am more concerned about.

WASHINGTON, June 1 (Reuters) - The Biden administration plans to sell Ukraine four MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones that can be armed with Hellfire missiles for battlefield use against Russia, three people familiar with the situation said.

The sale of the General Atomics-made drones could still be blocked by Congress, the sources said, adding that there is also a risk of a last minute policy reversal that could scuttle the plan, which has been under review at the Pentagon for several weeks.

Back in January I told a skeptical friend that I thought Biden would be glad to have a tidy little self-contained war to puff up his cred as a “wartime president” and also to distract the voters from the developing domestic catastrophes.

He said I was too cynical.

Putin strictly warned other nations not to interfere in Russia-Ukraine relations.

In other words, do not interfere with Russia reducing Ukraine to a protectorate of Russia.

Zelensky has already stated that he is no longer interested in NATO membership. If this were truly about NATO expansion Putin should accept Zelensky's declaration, sign a treaty guaranteeing Ukrainian neutrality, and to go home.

Western nations need to brace for a long “war of attrition” in Ukraine,
————-
The Ukies are spent, no front line troops being rotated in/ out, Territorial Defence units folding, all eastern supply lines getting decimated, no Ukies becoming of age running to enlist, all arms/ ammo/ fuel depots getting whacked, foreign volunteers going back home, …..” down to the last Ukrainian soldier” is nearing, the Ukie population isn’t dumb, the little beggar Zelensky’s game is almost over….no long war of attrition, no great tank battle on the flat plains of the east, reality is setting in.

You are badly misinformed about this entire war.

Most people are unaware of the following Ukrainian decree.

Please note the date on the following Decree. A full year before Russia entered Ukraine. And Ukraine started shelling the Donbass on Feb. 16, 2022...a full week PRIOR to Russia crossing the border. Ukraine intentionally STARTED the military conflict.

https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-polytics/3214479-zelensky-enacts-strategy-for-deoccupation-and-reintegration-of-crimea.html

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has enacted the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol.

Decree No. 117/2021 of March 24 on enactment of the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council was published on the website of the Head of State, Ukrinform reports.

“To approve the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol,” the document reads.

As noted, the strategy defines a set of diplomatic, military, economic, informational, humanitarian and other measures aimed at restoring the territorial integrity, state sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders through the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.

The document also identifies priorities for the state to protect human rights and freedoms violated as a result of the temporary occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, as well as the main areas of relevant economic, social, humanitarian, environmental, information, defense and security policy.

In addition, as the President’s Office underscores, the strategy sends a clear signal to the international community that Ukraine is consistent in its actions to restore territorial integrity, violated by the Russian Federation’s neglect of its international obligations.

The Cabinet of Ministers is instructed to develop an action plan for the implementation of the strategy, on the basis of which the relevant government bodies will prepare and implement measures to ensure the de-occupation and reintegration of the peninsula.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine approved the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol on March 11.

Oh what a threat to Russia, attempting to restore their territorial integrity. How dare they attempt to role back Russian invasions. Such a violation of international law.

Crimea aside, at the time even Russia recognized Donbas as part of Ukraine. Other than opposing Russian ambitions to sieze parts of Ukraine, Ukraine was never a threat to Russia.

Well, if Russia hadn’t invaded Ukraine, then Ukraine wouldn’t be getting those weapons systems. Funny how that works, when you decide to aggressively invade your neighbors, then they realize they have an incentive to militarize themselves in response. Nobody could have seen that coming.

“In other words, do not interfere with Russia reducing Ukraine to a protectorate of Russia.”

Yep, likely the outcome at this point. Bummer for Ukraine, though, as their other options dissipated once they decided to become a bitch for NATO.

I understand that you don’t understand. I’ve read your posts before and you keep missing the point.

The United States of America (also known as “The Deep State”) has had a long term policy of trying to destabilize Russia and achieve “regime change.”

The United States has had a well known policy to attempt to destabilize and weaken Russia and create “regime change” for over a decade. This war is just a continuation of that policy. What is happening is exactly what we bought the country for. It is what we spent years training their military to NATO standards for. For us, this was Ukraine’s purpose.

https://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/RB10014.html

By the way, we fund this Rand Corp. research. We paid for the report.

Overextending and Unbalancing Russia
Assessing the Impact of Cost-Imposing Options

Rand Report 2019

This brief summarizes a report that comprehensively examines nonviolent, cost-imposing options that the United States and its allies could pursue across economic, political, and military areas to stress—overextend and unbalance—Russia’s economy and armed forces and the regime’s political standing at home and abroad. Some of the options examined are clearly more promising than others, but any would need to be evaluated in terms of the overall U.S. strategy for dealing with Russia, which neither the report nor this brief has attempted to do.

Providing lethal aid to Ukraine would exploit Russia’s greatest point of external vulnerability. But any increase in U.S. military arms and advice to Ukraine would need to be carefully calibrated to increase the costs to Russia of sustaining its existing commitment without provoking a much wider conflict in which Russia, by reason of proximity, would have significant advantages.”

The U.S. BOUGHT Ukraine for that express purpose. We brought in NGO workers to create strife and resistance to Ukraine’s elected president because he was friendly to Russia to drive him out of office. Then we selected the replacement even in conflict with the EU. There are recorded conversations of Victoria Nuland (now the under secretary of State) Read this and see how the Ukrainians democracy was handled.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-26079957

Nuland has said, “We put $5 billion into this and we’re not leaving. F__k the EU!

That decree I posted for you was not based on Zelensky’s desires. When Zelensky ran for office his platform was to negotiate a settlement with Russia.

But, as you can tell from how things turned out that was not what we wanted him to do. SO HE DIDN’T DO THAT! Instead he formulated a plan (to retake Crimea and use the military to get the Donbass in line.) We own the puppet and we control him.

Zelensky knew and, of course, we knew Russia would not allow that. So now our over confident, cocky deep state believed we were in a position to weaken, destabilize Russia and bring about regime change by provoking them into combat at which point we would pile on the “biggest sanctions program in history” and take his economy down, too.

Americans are totally clueless about what has been going on in our Deep State government.

Hey Cathi, whoever the hell you are, what’s is wrong with Government of Ukraine intentions to restore Ukraine territorial integrity? Is is a crime in your enlightened opinion? Was it wrong for your country to repel German troops from its territory in 1945?

The one group of Ukrainians that I feel bad for are the young males, who likely never heard of Victoria Neuland, the Globalists, and, especially, our Neocon friends here, who started this war and are running this war.

These kids are FORCED to become human waves to try to slow the Russians, and their poor families are having to deal with not even knowing they’re dead, as the Ukrainian government won’t even go so far as trying to find out what happens to their people...lest it hurt morale.

I have no doubt FR is widely read inside the Kremlin and they prepare their talking points with what is likely to resonate with the Putin Puffers.
