I think a bigger reason the war may escalate in unpredictable ways is the MQ-9 drone the USA is sending to Ukraine.
This can be remotely piloted and there’s no way to prove it isn’t being piloted from the USA or some NATO base in western Europe.
There would be no plausible deniability to say these USA drones aren’t being piloted from the USA or west europe.
Imagine the irony of all those Californians moving to Vegas and nixing Yucca Mountain because they didn't want nuclear waste in Nevada, but then getting nuked.

The GE is absolutely necessary for utilizing the artillery weapons already in theater.
LR artillery requires specialized UAVs to spot and correct fire at distance. The Orcs have Orlon-10s which do this and is main reason Orc artillery is so deadly for UA troops.
The UA has only short ranged limited and mostly commercial kit drones which cannot fly more than 20km in the best of conditions.
The Orcs are perfectly capable of locating the GE originating signal.
Yeah, but they can easily swat those large medium altitude drones from the sky with S-300 and S-400 missiles inside Russia. And they will do so with wild abandon because there is no NATO aircrew inside them.
To make it extra funny they should declare a no-fly zone.
