Many possible reasons. Having worked for decades in a major hospital I've seen many, many scenarios which could have turned ugly and a few that *did* turn ugly. After I retired there was an incident at that same hospital in which a world famous heart surgeon was murdered by the son of a patient who was convinced that his mother wasn't treated properly.

If you think about it hospitals and doctor's offices are often associated with tragic events.

"Mr Smith, your cancer is inoperable...there's literally nothing we can do to help you" can be very, very difficult to hear. When heard by an already unstable individual the consequences can be very ugly indeed.

Yup its amazing that it doesn’t happen more often actually, some folks are very unreasonable and blame others for things they shouldn’t. (There are legit complaints thouhg, a friend had a bipsy done, and was never to,d the results because it never got sent out. Tu4ns out that a later biopsy showed cancer, but it was too late, and he died not lo g after the second biopsy- that would of course be a legit complaint, but others expect too much from docs and blame them when they can’t cure them. I’ve heard folks blame docs for not discovering somehting when the truth of the matter was they never went for tests but they expected the docs to diagnose based on Vague descriptions of symptoms. Thise folks become pretty negative towards docs. (High medical bills only further aggravate the issue)
