Who are you to say what is of value and what is not? You sound like the juror in the Sussman trial who said there are more important things than someone lying to the FBI.
The fact is, you aren’t considering being in their position. If someone said things about you that caused you to not only lose your job but become unemployable in your field of work entirely, you would feel a lot differently than you do.
In short, quit being a narcissistic piece of shxt and have some empathy. Career ending events are nothing to be blown off as nothing regardless of who you are or what you’ve done.
