Prosecution should move for a directed verdict, or else for a mistrial. It is not within the purview of a jury to decide whether a case should or should not have been brought, only to decide guilt or innocence based upon the facts presented to them.

Ironically, they could have just acquitted and shut their mouths - then no one could challenge it. That is jury nullification. But coming out an stating the reason as they did is, if not a violation of the law, grounds for reversing the verdict or declaring a mistrial. The evidence was CLEAR, Sussman knowingly and intentionally lied to the FBI.

One more thing - if lying to the FBI is “a waste of time,” and should not be prosecuted...then, apparently, EVERYONE can lie to the FBI with impunity, as NO SUCH CASE CAN BE BROUGHT AGAIN. I know that if I was defending a client accused of that, I’d bring up this case and make the same argument...and the argument that there needed to be equal treatment under the law. No, it wouldn’t go anywhere - but this kind of verdict only encourages further law-breaking. EVERYONE should be punished for breaking the law, or no one should; there is no in-between. This verdict simply encourages complete and total contempt for the law.

Wow.
Just imagine the possible illegal crap these folks on THAT jury might be comfortable allowing to be done to neighbors and strangers alike....if, oh, I don’t know .....folks in the family may be doing crap..... just wondering out loud.......
I mean, if a person cannot be honest and trusted to follow the law in the ‘smaller’ stuff a person sure as SHITE ought not be trusted to the guarding and/or decisions of the ‘bigger’ stuff.

How many of the jurors received checks from the government every year?

This jury has just established the best, most logical reason for denying statehood to the District of Columbia. They are not to be trusted with two Senators and a congress critter to call their very own.

One step closer to zero rule of law.

Why bother with new gun laws when this is where the Dems are taking this country?

Smells like juror misconduct to me.

It's not their place to make that decision, they're supposed to provide a verdict on the charges, that's it. Where do they get off making a decision on whether the case should be tried or not????

WOW, this country is in bad shape.

I am convinced more and more every day that nothing less than the judgment of God on this wicked nation will change its course. It's too far gone.

See my tagline.
