Headed for absolute catastrophe': Former firearms exec warns sales of AR-15s will fuel more massacres

In an interview with the Washington Post's Greg Sargent, Ryan Busse, who served for 25 years as vice president of sales for weapons manufacturer Kimber, claimed that, unless Congress does something about the manufacture of easily-obtainable high-powered AR15's the U.S. is poised for an "absolute catastrophe."

Reverse Mortgage Calculator Ad Reverse Mortgages Guides Reverse Mortgage Calculator Speaking with the columnist in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas mass shooting that claimed the lives of 19 elementary school children and two teachers by an 18-year-old gunman armed with an assault weapon purchased online from Georgia-based Daniels Defense, Busse lamented that there is no reason to believe mass shootings will abate after all the work the industry has done to market the weapons to a younger generation

As he revealed in the interview, AR's have become the weapon of choice of young shooters in part because industry officials learned they could reach younger men by getting their guns featured in popular weapons-heavy video games.

There is a full-court press for gun control like I have never seen, ever.

It's important to do a little research on who Ryan Busse is.

When you do, you find this: Former Firearms Executive Ryan Busse Joins Giffords to Combat Gun Lobby Radicalization and Advance Responsible Gun Ownership

Giffords is the anti-gun group put together by the husband of Gabby Giffords. Ryan Busse not only joined that, but became part of the Biden administration's anti-gun campaign in 2020.

Mark Kelly, Gabby Giffords husband, is a filthy, lying hypocrite who got caught buying an AR-15 that he was trying to deny to others:

Kimber doesn't make an AR-15 do they? They make handguns and plinking rifles right?

So why would this guy comment on this topic?

“industry officials learned they could reach younger men by getting their guns featured in popular weapons-heavy video games.”

When somebody puts “AR-15” and “High Powered” in the same sentence you know they don’t have the slightest clue what they are talking about.

The 30.06 cartridge your great grandfather used in WWI is vastly more powerful than the 5.56mm NATO standard round and it goes without saying that the .223 is even less powerful than that. No, intermediate cartridges are not “high powered”. Quite the opposite.

Kimber makes high end 1911 pistols, mostly, along with well made bolt action rifles.

Nice guns. We own a couple.

AR=15s in the mind of the public are now associated with mass shootings by crazies the way the Tommy gun was associated with gangsters in the 1930s. Suspect soon that it will extremely difficult, if not impossible for law abiding citizens to obtain one.

The closest Kimber gets to manufacturing AR-15s is rifles

Wait…

HOW many BILLIONS of OUR tax dollars did our corrupt politicians spend - sending ….. AR-15’s over to Ukraine civilians????

It’s like everything else… it’s only extraordinarily dangerous - HERE in the USA. But nowhere else in the world..

Perhaps the gun manufacturer should take a page from Dem naming conventions when it comes to bills. They should change the name of AR-15 to PS-1, short for peashooter

"There is a full-court press for gun control like I have never seen, ever."

Makes you think something is in the works for 2022 and 2024 that might get people "up in arms".

You know the primaries, and election integrity laws have them scared. Anyone paying attention--the January 6th political prisoners (I believe I heard a couple have died in jail), a Sussman acquittal despite being caught dead to rights, and a whole host of other things I believe is hardening a chunk of the population that we do NOT live in a free society, and that our institutions have failed us. I think the powers behind the politicuans in DC are aware of this as well.
Given 2020, and if we see more shananigans this Fall and in 2024, along with the economic/political environment, F15s and nukes are all they have left, unless the population is disarmed.

Its going to be interesting to see what will happen in Canada with Trudeau's latest stunt, and that's on our doorstep....

I’d like to hear next from a “popular weapons-heavy video game” company VP as they are likely far more culpable than gun manufacturers for mass shootings by young males...as if anyone other than young male mass shooters themselves are responsible for such unfathomable acts.

I once talked to a lefty about guns and ammo and I described it this way:

You have a .308 bullet and a 5.56 bullet. .308 goes into 5.56 18.05 times, therefore, a 5.56 is 18 times more powerful than a .308.

They actually thanked me for the info.

THIS is what, and who, is deciding gun policy..
