BTW Jacinda, didn’t the Christchurch perp use online chatroom acquaintances as references on his firearms licence application and that police allegedly failed to conduct a home interview as part of the backcheck process? Definitely not one but two no-no’s as far as firearms licences in New Zealand are concerned. And also, didn’t the perp admit that he wanted New Zealand to change their gun laws to be like Australia’s and that is one main reason for why he carried out his demented and horrible act?
I remember that fraudulent application and failure of due-diligence by the NZ police being mentioned...and then hastily swept under the rug.
