Governor Gavin Newsom tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday, according to his office, and plans to work remotely. He will remain in isolation through at least June 2 and until he tests negative.
"This morning, the governor tested positive for COVID-19 after exhibiting mild symptoms," the statement said.
The statement also said that the governor has received a prescription for the antiviral drug Paxlovid, which has proven effective against COVID-19, and that he will begin his 5-day regimen of the medication immediately.
The governor is vaccinated and has received both eligible boosters, as recently as May 18.

I don’t remember him having COVID-19, but he allegedly got sick from the vaccine.
And the dumbass Newsom, decided to be like Kevin Bacon, in "Animal House" where at the fraternity initiation ceremony gets his ass paddled, and paraphrasing, "Yes Sir, I would like another covid shot".

I do remember that. He disappeared for a while and the story was he had Guillain-Barre Syndrome or was slurring his speech or something.

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today released updated guidance for clinicians treating COVID-19 in patients who received the Pfizer COVID-19 antiviral pill Paxlovid.
“There is currently no evidence that additional treatment is needed with Paxlovid or other anti-SARS-CoV-2 therapies in cases where COVID-19 rebound is suspected,” CDC said, noting that a brief return of symptoms may be part of the natural history of SARS-CoV-2 infection in some individuals, “independent of treatment with Paxlovid and regardless of vaccination status.”
CDC continues to recommend Paxlovid to treat mild to moderate COVID-19 in patients at high risk for progressing to severe disease and isolating patients when COVID-19 rebounds to manage transmission risk.”
