No, can’t bring myself to believe that government churches are really Lutheran.
There are several Lutheran churches in America.
ELCA is the liberal one. All others are conservative.
There are even substantial number of conservative or at least moderate congregations within ELCA, but they are now marginalized. The top of ELCA is all WOKE.
Like they say, fish rots from the head.
I know that.
What I am saying is that they are not “Lutheran” no matter if its in their name or not.
Don’t see why not. Is the Anglican church really Anglican?
I never said it’s how I would arrange things. But it is what it is, and to refuse to acknowledge them as Lutheran — when they’ve been calling themselves just that for centuries — seems pretty perverse and futile to me.
Just for the record, what is your confession?
Well, They are and they are not. Depends how you look at it. They follow some teachings, and they do not follow others.
Like any other liberal denomination.
Instead following God, they follow the latest fad!
Kind of like the Israelites who prayed to God, but also made offerings to Baal.
