I do not believe that homosexuals are outnumbering conservatives in the so-called political right. However, I do believe that populists are beginning to outnumber social conservatives. Or, at the least, they are using bigger microphones. That might change at some point. Populists are easily swayed. Social conservatives are not.
The one populist opinion that most gay "conservatives" share is anti-immigration, especially with respect to Muslims who want to imprison and/or kill them.
It's more about self-preservation than gullibility.
Also, some gays tend to share conservatives' love for classic music, literature, architecture, etc. while others are very moderne.
Populism, for all its faults, at least has a record of winning elections, e.g. Trump.
A populist candidate is more likely to make the socon voting bloc happy by giving them some of the things they ask for, rather than neocons who just use issues like abortion as a carrot forever dangling in front of their noses.
