They don’t need to convince those on their side and they won’t convince us. But they will try to convince all those in the middle. They’ll define things so that what they want to do isn’t an infringement because it’s not covered by “The right of the people to keep and bear arms.” We have few, if any, counters.
If, knowing he intended to commit murder, the police had managed to stop the Uvalde shooter and take his arms before he killed anyone, would that have been an infringement? Is bearing arms for the purpose of murdering others covered by “The right of the people to keep and bear arms”?
