This is a great outcome this time. What worries me as a ccp holder is if I intervene, how does someone else not mistake me for an “active” shooter?

If no cops show up, you should be fine.

PLEASE, get some training, before you carry.
This is covered in Massad Ayoob's conceal-carry courses, and in many others.

You'll be fine around most other armed citizens. It's the cops you have to worry about.

You’re the one that stops shooting after the first target and drops the gun.

What worries me as a ccp holder is if I intervene, how does someone else not mistake me for an “active” shooter? Someone absolutely will mistake you for the active shooter. Plan and drill for that problem.
Your biggest threat will be from police who arrive late to the scene. You had better have your weapon holstered and back in concealment when they show up. A point that desperately needs to be covered in CCW training.
More than one innocent citizen who intervened in a shooting incident has been shot and killed by responding officers. Review the case of John Hurley for a particularly tragic example.
