“Mail room issues.” That’s a good one. Were there problems with the telephone system, too?

Not true! The FDA staff thought the baby food production facility was owned by the Texas governor’s family. You know: Abbott Manufacturing!

I know that, but they keep saying the plant was a problem. What I’m saying is that is not an excuse.

It’s one of the few jobs that are white collar, average salary in the 6 figures, and which has union protection.

The complaint got lost in the mail ... because of COVID.

“but failed to substantiate the whistleblower’s claims”

Before I retired I was a safety manager. I dealt with OSHA. EVERY “whistleblower” OSHA complaint I dealt with was a disgruntled fired employee looking for revenge. Every single one.

There should have been a massive effort to sanitize that plant, probably a week at most with federal help and crews working 24/7
Those things always take longer when the crews have to work from home.

The FDA blames the staff at Sturgis for delaying their inspection because of COVID-19 staffing issues.

There were mass layoffs at FDA? Never heard about it.

Why did it take the FDA until the end of January to begin its inspection of Abbott’s Sturgis plant, despite receiving warnings last fall?

Because (speaking from experience as a regulatee), as long as your regulating, you might as well relax and take your time, mon.

Only an idiot thinks the Fedgov can be responsible and do things better than anything private sector. And responsibility? HA! They are the government, what’re you gonna do about it!?

they found a couple of dirty areas THAT WAS NOT IN THE AREA where formula was made. Yet, they shut down, kept it shut down even after it was proven, contamination didn’t not come from that plant.
