Former President Donald Trump will speak at the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Annual Leadership Forum this week in the wake of the horrific tragedy at a Texas elementary school, previewing an “important address to America.”
“America needs real solutions and real leadership in this moment, not politicians and partisanship,” Trump said in an update to his TruthSocial account Wednesday.
“That’s why I will keep my longtime commitment to speak in Texas at the NRA Convention and deliver an important address to America. In the meantime, we all continue to pray for the victims, their families, and for our entire nation—we are all in this together!” he added.

Over 150 BILLION DOLLARS in covid money supposed to be used for schools, most of that money was never used..how about using that money to hire armed guards to keep guard of the schools. Well, some people perhaps. With others, I expect we’d see quite a different reaction.
A lot of conservatives give Trump quite a bit of leeway because, compared to all the “credentialed conservatives” out there, Trump actually fought for us and actually accomplished some significant victories. That’s something very few conservative politicians in recent memory can claim. So if Trump says something that isn’t “kosher” for a conservative to say, or supports a candidate that we all can see is going to be a disappointing squish, well, we can overlook something like that in light of his accomplishments.
But if he suddenly betrays us on a core principle that people have been fighting for since long before Trump decided to stop voting Democrat, I think that will be a bridge too far for most.

Who is living in fear? Your chance of dying in a mass shooting is much smaller than your chance of getting killed in a car accident or having a heart attack during your morning jog. If people are losing sleep over it, well, they are being a little melodramatic.
If you’re living in Japan, do you fret that some guy will go crazy and attack you with a knife, since that’s the equivalent “run amok” event that happens there from time to time?

The local radio station interviewed a sobbing neighbor when a local school went into lockdown due to an armed robbery in the area.
“My husband and I just began weeping when we heard the news,” she said as she struggled to get the words out. It was absolutely ridiculous, so much so that is was aggravating to hear - it made me want to scream.
Two people sat there weeping inside their home, probably holding each other like helpless children instead of being armed and ready if the robbers broke in. I can’t imagine the kind of lifestyle where you cry instead of defending yourself.
