Oh is that so. Well Stacy Abrams was unopposed. There was no real reason to vote for her. And she got 709K votes. David Perdue with a full Trump endorsement behind him got only 259K votes. So based on those numbers fat Stacey would crush Perdue in November.
This isn’t about electing a Republican in Georgia in November — its about punishing Kemp, and has been all along. And it failed miserably.
GA wants it rough so GA gets it rough.
There was never any credible threat to Kemp.. Could Kemp have been primaried?. Perhaps, but its clear that Perdue sure wasn’t going to be the person who would be able to do it.
None of the alternate candidates every got off the ground..
I’m not on the ground in GA, so I won’t try to say I have any insight, but its damned clear that the folks who were put up as alternatives to Kemp didn’t every get off the ground.
My SUSPICION is that no really strong MAGA type candidate was running... but that’s just a general suspicion, absolutely no evidence to back that up.
