Mental illness can be an excuse for evil. There are very evil people who are sane.
That’s what a liberal would say. As if evil could be cured by better health care.

That is an incredibly ignorant statement and utterly lacking in compassion for those that struggle with various forms of mental illness. Very few people with mental illness harm others physically or are cold blooded killers. Some people that do these acts of violence are mentally ill. All people that are mentally ill do not commit acts of violence. For that matter any sane person under ‘right’ circumstances could act impulsively as well. I am not excusing this utterly vile evil sick POS person’s actions but please don’t lump everyone with mental illness into this category. It’s not true and it’s wrong. People with mental illness don’t need your judgment or stigmatization on top of their struggle.
So are illicit drugs.

I have suffered from treatment refractory severe depression and anxiety since I was a young boy.
I am neither evil, nor have I murdered anyone.

I think you have that inverted: Mentally ill people are not necessarily evil and do not necessarily do evil. But evil causes much mental illness: the evil of an amoral, G-dless society, opening up pathways to drugs, sexual addictions and perversions and the complete devaluation of human life as sacred and precious. These are the ingredients of minds coming unhinged.
