I live in a small rural town in southern Illinois and My wife is a librarian at an Elementary school here.

The school has had an armed police office on campus for several years now,

That’s good to know. My small town in rural Alabama only has them at the High and Middle Schools.

We need to ensure the Elementary school now, also.

I’m sure each state has different laws but will need to update them accordingly.

Also, the doors need to be locked from the inside. NO ONE should be able to enter except through the main entrance, which is where the SRO office should be.
