Well, if Ukraine had not reneged on their agreement to release such lands in the Minsk agreement, none of this would have happened. Eastern UK states held votes (yeah, since all the corruption in our own 2020 election I’m not completely confident, either) asking for release.
Looks more and more like there was a peaceful transition in hand until BeijingBiden interfered — and we got a war. BBiden’s incentives in fostering this are many, and a war holds out the possibility that Zelynskyy can stay in office. I’m not really surprised that BBiden’s apologists support him. After all, these are probably the same folks who swallowed the (obvious) Russian collusion scam with no questions.
Biden gave the okay to Putin to imvade and haa been protecting Russia from worse.
It may surprise some people to know that the 2015 Minsk agreements while providing greater autonomy for the Luhansk and Donetsk regions did NOT release them from being a functional part of Ukraine, and that Russia was fine with that arrangement.
Today it is a different story, but the original intent was NOT to break up Ukraine any further.
